Mark J. Ackerman, CPA

Mark Ackerman serves a diverse client base that includes real estate, with a significant expertise in HUD and Section 8 housing; as well as medical and other professional services providers, insurance brokers and underwriters, and staffing and court reporting agencies.

Mark had built a solid practice over three decades on the strength of his work ethic, integrity and responsive service. Merging his practice, Ackerman & Associates, in 2012, is representative of his ongoing commitment to provide his clients with the best possible service and personal attention.

Mark launched his career in a small practice that gave him the hands on experience to build a foundation. He was next recruited by Hurdman & Cranston, which merged into Big Eight firm KPMG.  After four years as a manager at Hurdman & Cranston, Mark left to launch a private practice that has thrived for three decades.  A loyal clientele, a strong referral base and the growth and success of Ackerman & Associates’ clients have all contributed to the success of the firm.

A graduate of St. John’s University, Mark is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New York State Society of CPAs, the Affordable Housing Association of CPAs and was elected as a member of the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County.  As a former adjunct professor at C.W. Post, Mark taught courses in accounting for more than five years.  He has served as the treasurer and vice president at Island Hills Golf Club and as the financial secretary for the Merrick Jewish Center. Currently, Mark serves on the advisory board for Contractors for Kids, an organization dedicated to providing assistance to sick children and their families.
